“Any form of art is a form of power; it has impact, it can affect change – it can not only move us, it makes us move.” ~ Pablo Picasso

This April, join your St. Croix Valley neighbors in reading Kevin Wilson’s unpredictable novel Nothing to See Here, where the children are fiery. This compelling story invites readers to reconsider neurodiversity, self-control, and caregiving.

Thanks to ArtReach St. Croix, a number of free READ & RELEASE copies are available. You can also find copies in the MORE library system. Throughout April, ArtReach will partner with area libraries and other organizations to present the NEA Big Read in the St. Croix Valley. Expect a month full of engaging activities: book discussions, art exhibitions, film screenings, writing workshops, and even an author talk with Kevin Wilson himself.
Visit artreachstcroix.org/bigread for the full schedule and to find ways to participate.

As ArtReach Executive Director Heather Rutledge explains, the purpose of Valley Reads is to “have as many people as possible finding connection through reading a common book.” Now in its 11th year, this program continues to unite residents across the St. Croix Valley in both Minnesota and Wisconsin through the power of shared stories.

While you’re at the library, celebrate Women’s History Month by exploring books that honor the contributions of women in history, science, art, and government. Women have played a vital role in shaping society, often without recognition.

“Women are the real architects of society.” ~ Harriet Beecher Stowe
