About the Geraldine E. Anderson Village Library
Named to honor Geraldine E. Anderson in 2020, the library was founded on September 7, 1935 by the Dresser Women’s Club as the Dresser Junction Library. The name was changed in the 1940s to Dresser Village Library.
Geraldine E. Anderson
For 35 years as a first-grade teacher in the Osceola School District, Anderson was dedicated to teaching students how to read. She was one of the first librarians when her mother was part of the group that formed the library. For decades, she volunteered for the library in numerous capacities, including serving on the board as president. In 2016, she was Wisconsin Library Trustee of the year. She died in January 2019 at 91.
